Q3 RANKINGS METHODOLOGY
The HERA Q3 Rankings are designed to assess three connected dimensions of the higher education journey: Student Experience, Institutional CARE and Graduate Success. Each ranking follows the common HERA methodology architecture - HERA Ranking → Performance Domain → Performance Measure → Evidence Metric → Verified Evidence - with weighted Performance Domains contributing to a final score of 100%.
HERA Q3 Ranking | Core Assessment Focus | Performance Domains & Weightage |
|---|---|---|
HERA Student Experience Rankings | Quality of the student’s lived academic and campus experience | Learning Experience 30% · Campus Environment 18% · Student Services 18% · Student Engagement 17% · Student Support 17% |
HERA CARE Rankings | Effectiveness of student assistance, wellbeing, resilience and institutional response | Student Assistance 30% · Wellbeing 25% · Resilience 20% · Institutional Responsiveness 15% · Campus Engagement 10% |
HERA Graduate Success Rankings | Graduate employment, career progression and longer-term professional outcomes | Employment & Positive Destinations 22% · Career Progression 18% · Economic Return 15% · Employer Assessment 15% · Graduate Skills & Work Readiness 12% · Entrepreneurship Outcomes 8% · Alumni Career Achievement 5% · Career-Readiness Experience 5% |
The methodology combines measurable institutional performance, stakeholder evidence and verified data to provide a structured and comparable assessment of how institutions support students during study, respond to their needs and enable successful graduate outcomes.
Student Experience, CARE and Graduate Success are separate rankings; scores from one ranking are not directly combined with or compared against scores from another. Their respective Performance Domains and weights are independently defined.
Student Experience Meets Graduate Success
The HERA Q3 Ranking Cycle brings together three dimensions increasingly central to contemporary higher education: how students experience an institution, how institutions support them, and how successfully graduates progress beyond it. Through Graduate Success, Student Experience and CARE Rankings, HERA provides institutions with focused perspectives for understanding performance across the complete student-to-graduate journey.
